Part me thinks he was waiting, but the car was actually starting to have issues from not being driven regularly. Over several years, he and I would talk cars and take each other’s cars out for a spin whenever I was up visiting my parents. It was a situation where the car wasn’t really for sale, but he ended up being willing to sell it me so that it would actually get used and taken care of. The whole story of how I got the car is something of trip. I’ll have to write it up sometime.
